I painted this piece in oil paints on canvas. It is 36"x24". Mother and child, one of the most lovely, transparent and tender bonds that we can experience in life. A sun-drenched kitchen table, adorned with fresh fruit and sprightly calla lilies shows us just a small insight into a mother’s cherishing care for her family. Her desire is to bring beauty, light, warmth, and joy to all that she touches. Snippets of early 19th century American painter Mary Cassatt’s pieces, featuring gentle moments between mother and child, surround this scene with an embrace of protection and love.
